MOMACHEM: European Associated Laboratory of Molecular and Macromolecular Chemistry

Put on-line by Carine Duhayon - 12 March 2009

This laboratory is a strong link between the "Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination" (LCC) and the "Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies" (CMMS) headed by Pr M. MIKOLAJCZYK, an institute from the polish academy of sciences located in Lodz (Poland). It was created in january 1999, and it is headed since then by Jean-Pierre Majoral. Ten polish and french research teams collaborate within this structure, around 9 research fields :

  • strong bases and optically active ligands
  • nanoparticles in micro and nanoelectronics
  • influence of phosphorus-containing dendrimers on cellular uptake of DNA and RNA oligonucleotides
  • asymetric synthesis
  • dendrimers and surface modification
  • control of radical polymerization in ionic liquids
  • study of stereodynamic diphosphines
  • chiral phosphine-(sulfinylmethyl)phosphonium ylides
  • two complementary tools: non natural DNA and articial nuclease

More than 60 publications were produced from the collaborations inside this associated european lab, and the second workshop took place in Toulouse, march 2006.
