<h3><strong>Well-defined low-coordinate iron(II) complexes: novel opportunities for applications in catalysis </strong></h3>
<p>Despite the central role of alkene isomerization and Suzuki–Miyaura coupling in academia and industry, and the great promise of iron in sustainable catalysis, iron-catalyzed variants of these transformations are still in their infancy. Herein, we will present our recent investigations into the development of versatile, well-defined anilido-aldimine iron(II) catalysts that demonstrate high efficiency and versatility, addressing key challenges in these two pivotal reactions. Under mild conditions, our readily accessible catalysts successfully enable C(sp3)-C(sp2) and C(sp3)-C(sp3) Suzuki-Miyaura couplings and perform tunable and stereocontrolled carbon-carbon double bond migration over one and multiple positions along the carbon chain. Notably, they also achieve stereocontrolled geometrical alkene isomerization, a transformation not previously reported with iron catalysis. We will also present detailed mechanistic studies that provide a comprehensive understanding of these processes.</p></div>
