The induction ceremony of Rinaldo Poli, Senior lecturer of the Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry (LCC Toulouse), as a member of the Academia Europaea in the Chemical Sciences section, took place on October 15, 2025, in Barcelona.

The Academia Europaea was established in 1988 and is the Pan-European Academy of Sciences Humanities and Letters.

The object of Academia Europaea is the advancement and propagation of excellence in scholarship in the humanities, law, the economic, social, and political sciences, mathematics, medicine, and all branches of natural and technological sciences anywhere in the world for the public benefit and for the advancement of the education of the public of all ages in the aforesaid subjects in Europe.

Academia Europaea is a European, non-governmental association acting as an Academy. Our members are scientists and scholars who collectively aim to promote learning, education and research. Founded in 1988, with more than 5000 members which includes leading experts from the physical sciences and technology, biological sciences and medicine, mathematics, the letters and humanities, social and cognitive sciences, economics and the law.

Rinaldo Poli, Professor Emeritus in Team G of the Coordination Chemistry Laboratory (LCC Toulouse) has been elected a member of the Academia Europaea, in the Chemical Sciences section.

This election by the Academy recognizes his outstanding contribution to science and honors the LCC.

The Academia Europaea, created in 1988, is the pan-European Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts.

“Members of the Academia Europaea are scientists and scholars from all over Europe. Founded in 1988, it currently has over 4,500 members, including 72 Nobel Prize laureates. Membership is by invitation, following nomination by a group of peers, and review and confirmation of the individual’s excellence in his or her field. Election is confirmed by the Academy Council.”

The Academia Europaea’s mission is to promote European research, advise governments and international organizations on scientific matters and foster interdisciplinary and international research, as well as to propagate excellence in teaching.

Summer school “Catalysis: from understanding to application”

The objective of this Summer School is to present catalysis as a tool of preference for the development of sustainable processes, respectful to the environment. Catalysis is indeed at the heart of Green Chemistry: atom economy, selectivity and energy economy, transformation of raw materials into targeted products.
This Summer School is particularly dedicated to PhD students, Post-docs, Master students, but also to academic and industrial engineers and researchers.  

The third edition of this summer school, held in Albi from 17 to 21 June 2024, was a great success.

Rinaldo Poli, awarded by the Grand Prix Achille le Bel of the Société chimique de France

The Grand Prix Achille le Bel is awarded for internationally recognised work that falls within the scope of the activities of the Société chimique de France (SCF). This year’s winner is Rinaldo Poli, Professor at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC-CNRS) in Toulouse, in the “Ligands, Complex Architectures and Catalysis” team (G team).
