Electrified Catalytic Conversion for Industrial Carbon Neutrality
The steel and chemical industries are among the most energy- and carbon-intensive sectors globally, making CO2 conversion technologies driven by clean energy critical for achieving carbon neutrality goals. Electrocatalytic and electrothermal processes offer promising routes to convert industrial off-gases into rich-CO syngas, establishing a sustainable, power-driven carbon loop to reduce net emissions. Furthermore, advanced catalyst design enables the direct transformation of CO2 into high-value chemicals such as ethylene and ethanol. With the declining cost of renewable electricity, green power-driven CO2 reduction holds strong potential for industrial-scale deployment. This talk will present our recent progress in CO2 catalytic materials design, interface engineering, and reaction pathway control for efficient industrial decarbonization.
