Activités de l’équipe

L’activité de l’équipe concerne la chimie et la catalyse organométalliques moléculaires avec comme objectif de répondre aux enjeux et défis actuels tels que le développement durable, l’énergie ou l’environnement.

Les compétences de l’équipe sont variées et vont de la conception de ligands originaux et nouveaux concepts en chimie de coordination au développement de procédés catalytiques innovants.

L’équipe possède une forte expertise sur les ligands carbéniques et phosphorés et en chimie des métaux non-nobles abondants.

Vincent César est un ancien élève de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Il obtient le doctorat de chimie en 2004 à l’université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg) sous la direction du Prof. L. H. Gade et du Dr S. Bellemin-Laponnaz. Après un séjour post-doctoral avec le Prof. Dr. A. Fürstner au Max Planck Institut für Kohlenforschung (Mülheim/Ruhr, Allemagne), il intègre le CNRS en 2006 au Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination à Toulouse et est promu Directeur de recherche en 2020.

Après l’obtention d’un BTS chimie et génie chimique en 2003, Cécile Barthes a obtenu plusieurs CDD au sein du CNRS dans des laboratoires tels que le CEMES ou le LHFA ainsi que chez Sanofi –Aventis toujours en tant que technicienne de synthèse en recherche dans divers domaines. En 2008, elle a obtenu un poste de technicienne de recherche au LCC. Depuis, elle est impliquée dans plusieurs sujets de recherche au sein de deux équipes.

Stéphanie Bastin a effectué son doctorat en 2000 sous la direction du Prof. J. Brocard à l’Université de Lille I dans le domaine de la catalyse asymétrique. Après deux stages post-doctoraux dans le groupe du Prof. M. Wills à l’Université de Warwick (UK) et J.-P. Majoral au Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC) de Toulouse, elle a obtenu un poste permanent de chargé de recherche CNRS au LCC en 2004. Expertise : Carbènes N-hétérocycliques pour applications catalytiques.

Yves Canac a obtenu son doctorat en 1996 sous la direction du Pr G. Bertrand à Toulouse. Après un post-doctorat auprès du Pr A. Vasella à l’ETH-Zürich en 1997, il entre au CNRS en 1998 à l’Université d’Orsay. En 2001, il rejoint l’Université de Californie-Riverside, participant à la fondation du Laboratoire commun UCR/CNRS. En 2006, il revient à Toulouse au Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination du CNRS. En 2014, il est nommé directeur de recherche au CNRS. Ses activités sont principalement centrées sur la chimie des ligands carbonés à des fins fondamentales et appliquées.

J.-B. Sortais a effectué son doctorat en 2007 sous la supervision du Dr. M. Pfeffer, sur des complexes cycloruthénés chiraux pour des applications catalytiques. Après deux postes post-doctoraux avec le Pr. J. E. Bäckvall à l’Université de Stockholm et le Pr. G. Erker à l’Université de Münster, il a été nommé Maître de Conférences à l’Université de Rennes 1 en 2009, puis promu Professeur à l’Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse 3 en 2017. Expertise : complexes de métaux abondants pour la catalyse.

Dmitry Valyaev a obtenu son doctorat en 2007 à l’INEOS de Moscou sous la direction des Pr N. Ustynyuk et Dr O. Semeikin. Après 3 ans passées en tant que Chercheur à l’INEOS, il a effectué trois stages postdoctorales consécutives au LCC (2009-2010 et 2012-2013) sous la direction du Dr N. Lugan et à l’iSm2 (2011-2012) sous la direction des Dr O. Chuzel et Dr J.-L. Parrain et ensuite obtenu une poste de chercheur CNRS au LCC. Ses activités de recherche sont principalement centrées sur l’application de chimie organométallique du manganèse pour la synthèse organique et en catalyse homogène.
