Confined single metal atoms on solid catalysts. Establishing bridges between homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis
The preparation of single metal (Pt, Rh, Ir, Pd) atoms confined in porous materials allows to stabilize metal valences that are usually not stable under reaction conditions. This, together with the control of the coordination groups associated to the catalytic site within the pores and cavities, allow the preparation of active, stable and regioselective solid catalysts.
We will show that in some cases their activity and regioselectivity can surpass those of the classical homogeneous catalysts.
