Liquid biopsy: from biomarker analysis to cancer diagnosis

Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive cancer assessment by interrogating tumor-derived components, such as circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and extracellular vesicles (EVs), in body fluids. However, the low abundance and pronounced heterogeneity of CTCs) and tumor-derived EVs remain major challenges for accurate analysis. To address these issues, we developed affinity-interface engineering strategies for efficient CTC capture and subtype-resolved analysis, and further established an integrated single-EV platform that combines target capture and molecular analysis. These approaches facilitate accurate cancer diagnosis and molecular stratification through the precise analysis of rare tumor-derived biomarkers.
