Catherine AMIENS received her education in chemistry at the ENS Paris (1988). After a PhD at Univ. Paris XI, she joined the Univ. of Toulouse as Assistant Professor (1992) to design new synthetic methods to control the morphology, surface state and properties of metal nanoparticles. She obtained her HDR in 2002 and was recruited Professor in 2006. She works with physicists and biologists to develop new applications of nanoparticles (contrast agents, sustainable materials and processes).

With competences earned on preparation and characterization of ingnifugated blends, adhésive polymers and hybrid sol-gel materials he joined the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination for a PhD on the preparation of nano-composites coatings by a plasma process joint with a pulsed injection of nanoparticules obtained via an organometallic route, thesis co-supervised by R. Clergereaux (LAPLACE, Toulouse) and financed by DGA and SAFRAN.

Rosa Axet research activities are focused in the organometallic and nanomaterials chemistry areas, mainly for applications in catalysis. Stéphanie Bastin a effectué son doctorat en 2000 sous la direction du Prof. J. Brocard à l’Université de Lille I dans le domaine de la catalyse asymétrique. Benoit-Vical a travaillé sur la valorisation de la médecine traditionnelle dans le traitement du paludisme et sur le mode d’action de l’artémisinine. Elle a bénéficié d’un contrat d’interface Inserm-Hôpitaux de Toulouse et a été conseillère scientifique de la spin-off PALUMED SA pour le développement d’antipaludiques. Dans le cadre de nouvelles approches pharmacologiques, F. Benoit-Vical s’intéresse aux mécanismes de résistance de Plasmodium falciparum et aux travaux de pharmaco-modulation en chimie médicinale à visée antipaludique afin de proposer de nouvelles solutions thérapeutiques.

Virginie Béreau received her PhD degree (1997) in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin, in France. From 1997 to 2000, she was a research assistant at Northwestern University (group of Prof. J. A. Ibers) and from 2000 to 2001 at UCLA (group of Prof. A. M. Omar). She became assistant professor (from 2001) at Paul Sabatier University (in the Institute of Technology in chemistry) and she is now associate professor since 2013. Her research interest focuses on the design, synthesis and characterization of molecular and supramolecular magnetic materials based on 3- 4- and 5d metal transitions and on lanthanides.

After undergraduate studies at the University of Bordeaux where I worked in the lab of Prof. Y. Landais and spent few months as Erasmus student in the lab of Prof. H. Brintzinger at the University of Konstanz, Germany, I moved to the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse in 2003 for my PhD. I worked under the guidance of Prof. R. Bouhadir and Prof. D. Bourissou on the synthesis and coordination chemistry of mono-, di-, and tri-phosphine-borane compounds showing in particular direct metal→borane interaction. After graduating in 2006, I did a postdoc in 2007-2008 with Prof. R. Jordan at the University of Chicago studying elementary steps of olefin/CO copolymerization with Pd(phosphine-sulfonate) catalysts, and in McGill University in Montreal in 2008-2009 in the team of Prof. B. Arndtsen on palladium-catalyzed one-pot multicomponent synthesis of heterocycles. I then moved back to Toulouse as Chargé de Recherche in 2009 to work in LCC. Since then, I am developing researches directed at CO₂ transformations using boranes or silanes and at the synthesis of new first row metal complexes.

Anne-Marie Caminade is Director of Research Exceptional Class at the CNRS (DRCE since 2014), Deputy Director of the LCC (DUA since 2021), and Head of the “Dendrimers and Heterochemistry” team (since 2006). She was recently named Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur and received the Grand Prix Le Bel de la SCF (2021). Yves Canac a obtenu son doctorat en 1996 sous la direction du Pr G. Bertrand à Toulouse. Après un post-doctorat auprès du Pr A. Vasella à l’ETH-Zürich en 1997, il entre au CNRS en 1998 à l’Université d’Orsay. En 2001, il rejoint l’Université de Californie-Riverside, participant à la fondation du Laboratoire commun UCR/CNRS. En 2006, il revient à Toulouse au Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination du CNRS. En 2014, il est nommé directeur de recherche au CNRS. Ses activités sont principalement centrées sur la chimie des ligands carbonés à des fins fondamentales et appliquées.

During his PhD co-directed by M. Kahn (LCC) and R. Clergereaux (LAPLACE) and completed in November 2019, Guillaume Carnide developed a nanoparticle synthesis and injection process (reactor-injector) coupled with a plasma process. The study and control of this process enabled the formation of hydrophobic and scratch-resistant multifunctional coatings. He subsequently extended this process to various industrial applications: anti-icing coatings (Freezing project in collaboration with IRT Saint-Exupéry), antibacterial coatings (Franco-German ANR). He is currently involved in a France Relance project with SAFRAN to set up a platform for technology transfer of this process.

Vincent César was educated at the “Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon” (France). He completed his thesis in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. L. H. Gade and Dr. S. Bellemin-Laponnaz at the “Université Louis Pasteur” in Strasbourg. After post-doctoral studies with Prof. Dr. A. Après un doctorat de biochimie obtenu en 1994 à l’Université de Lille, Olivier Cuvillier a réalisé un stage postdoctoral de 1995 à 1999 à Georgetown University sur le métabolisme des sphingolipides et leurs rôles dans la mort cellulaire. Il a été recruté CR1 Inserm en 2001 au sein de l’unité U466 de Toulouse. En 2005, il a créé l’équipe « Sphingolipides, Cancer et Vieillissement » à l’IPBS (CNRS UMR 5089), équipe qu’il a dirigé jusqu’en 2020. Directeur de recherche Inserm depuis 2007, il a rejoint le LCC en 2021 pour créer l’équipe « Chimie médicinale pour l’oncologie » avec Heinz Gornitzka, formalisant une collaboration de plusieurs années entre les deux équipes.

She obtained a CNRS position in 2012 at Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials of Strasbourg and she moved in 2018 to the Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry in Toulouse. Since 2012, she works on the synthesis of multiferroic coordination compounds (coordination networks and molecular magnets).

Béatrice Delavaux-Nicot is currently a Research Director at CNRS.

She earned her PhD from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse in 1986 and obtained her Habilitation to Supervise Research from UPS in 1997. Having worked in seven different research groups at the French Institute of Petroleum (Rueil Malmaison), the Atomic Energy Commission (Saclay), and the LCC (Toulouse), she has contributed to the development of various themes in coordination chemistry.

Her molecular focus ranges from simple complexes to organized supramolecular systems, including nanomolecules like dendrimers. Synthesis, characterization, reactivity, physicochemical properties, and structure-property correlations are at the core of her studies. Electrochemistry and luminescence, along with their potential applications in solution or solid state, are areas of particular interest.

Most molecular systems involve energy or electron transfers, designed for producing original ion detectors in solutions, “greener” OLEDs, or original and high-performing luminescent molecular materials.

Collaboration with different teams is an essential contribution to her activity.

I received my MSc2 degree from the International Master “Nanoscale Science and Engineering” from the EUR NanoX at the University of Paul Sabatier. My PhD project, supervised by Pr C. AMIENS and Pr M. RESPAUD, focuses on the study of the reactivity of iron NPs towards ammonia. The objective is to optimize the nitridation conditions to reach the nitrogen-poor phase, α”-Fe16N2, of interest for the development of eco-friendly permanent magnets.

Ons El Atti graduated from Le Mans Université in 2021 with a Master’s degree in Organic Synthesis and Methodologies. She completed her internship at ICGM, Montpellier, under the supervision of Dr Armelle Ouali, working on lignin catalysis using catalysts grafted onto iron and cobalt NPs. In October 2021, she joined the Coordination Chemistry Laboratory and Myrtil L. Kahn’s team for her PhD. The goal of the thesis is to bring solutions to air depollution from nitrogen oxides (NOx) thanks to photocatalytic materials associated to mesoporous silica supports, and development and the evaluation of NOx abatement levels by specific MOS gas sensors (metal oxide semiconductors).

After obtaining a MSc degree at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon in 2018, I did a 6-month research stay in New Zealand in the research group of Pr. Sally Brooker. There, I worked on the development of terpyridine-triazole ligands used for the assembly of Ru and Fe centers. Then, I came back to Lyon in 2019 where I started a PhD project under the supervision of Dr. Clément Camp and Dr. Chloé Thieuleux in the CP2M laboratory. My thesis was about the design and reactivity of homogeneous and surface-supported Al/Ir heterobimetallic complexes for cooperative catalysis. Now (since January 2023) I am working as a post-doc in the team of Dr Antoine Simonneau at LCC/Toulouse on Push-Pull Systems For N₂ Activation.

Michel Feron obtained a master degree in Dijon, based on organometallic chemistry and the role of transition metals. He follows his formation with a thesis based on the development of technologies related to nanoparticles mixing organic chemistry of ligands, inorganic chemistry of nanoparticles and plasma physics. This thesis is a partnership between the LCC and the Laplace laboratory, supervised respectively by Myrtil Kahn and Richard Clergereaux.

Catherine Hemmert completed her thesis under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Pierre Sauvage at the “Université Louis Pasteur” in Strasbourg. After obtaining her PhD in 1990, she joined Pr. Eberhard Steckhan at the Institut für Organische Chemie und Biochemie in Bonn (Germany) as an Alexander-von-Humboldt fellow. In 1991, she was appointed CNRS researcher at the “Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination du CNRS” in Toulouse. C. Hureau finished her PhD in 2003 in Orsay, on Mn-based structural models of the water-oxidizing centre. I defended my PhD under the supervision of G. Bertrand in 1989. I pursuided my research training in E. Niecke laboratory in Bonn and then I joined, at the University of Utah, J.A. Gladysz’s team as a 2 years post-doc researcher. Since 1992, I work for the CNRS at the LCC. I develop main group and coordination chemistry directed for the development of environmental efficient (photo)catalytic processes for H₂ (photo)production and fuels (photo)production from CO₂ just to name some examples.

Jean Irle-Belmont holds a DUT in material chemistry from the University of Auvergne, as well as two master degrees (one in organic chemistry from the Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse and the other in material chemistry from the University of Montpellier). Guided by his commitment to sustainable development, Jean Irle-Belmont joined the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination for a PhD on the synthesis of bimetallic nanoparticles as efficient catalysts for the storage/production of dihydrogen as a viable energy carrier.

JAKOOBI Martin

Martin Jakoobi studied organometallic chemistry at the University of Liverpool, where he defended his PhD thesis at the end of 2018 on the development of aromatic C-C bond cleavage reaction in iridium complexes. After that he joined the group of C. Thieuleux and C. Camp at CPE Lyon to expand his skills from stoichiometric chemistry to catalytic applications. During this two-year postdoctoral position, he helped to develop industrially relevant alkene hydrosilylation reaction catalysed by cheap and abundant Co complexes and Co nanoparticles (NPs). Since spring 2021, he has been working in Dr. Kahn’s group at LCC to gain further knowledge about the control of size and shape of NPs, to develop suitable early transition metal precursors for NP synthesis, and to expand his expertise to solid-state NMR.

After a PhD on functionalized gold nanoparticles as redox probes, obtained in 2000 under the supervision of Prof. Didier Astruc (Bordeaux), I did a postdoctoral fellowship at Oxford University (England) from 2001 to 2003, with Prof. David M. Hodgson, on enantioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions catalysed by dirhodium(II) complexes. Since October 2003, I am a CNRS Researcher at the LCC, where I develop (chiral) functionalised NHC and ferrocene ligands for catalysis.

Pascal G. LACROIX is a chemical engineer from the national school of chemistry of Strasbourg (ENSCS). Dylan Martinez obtained his Master’s degree in 2021 from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France. There, he developed his interest in molecular chemistry, specifically in organic and inorganic synthesis.

He started his PhD in LCC (Toulouse, France) under the guidance of Drs Sutter and Béreau.

His work focuses on the synthesis of single chain magnets with strong anisotropic exchange interactions.

I obtained a BSc “Parcours Spéciaux” degree in chemistry followed by a MSc degree specialized in green chemistry at the University of Toulouse. I continue my formation with a PhD under the supervision of the Dr. Sébastien Bontemps. We are interested on the transformation of formaldehyde into carbohydrates. We are also working on a bisphosphine NHC-borane platform to use it in main-group and coordination chemistry for the activation of small molecules.

Emilie Mathieu completed her PhD in 2017 at the Laboratoire des Biomolécules from the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris (France), working under the supervision of Clotilde Policar and Nicolas Delsuc. Her work focused on the design of superoxide dismutase mimics (SODm) and on linking the biological activity of SODm with their becoming in cells (speciation, location, accumulation). Then, she joined the group of Eszter Borbas at Uppsala University (Sweden) in which she studied photo-induced electron transfer in luminescent lanthanide (Eu, Yb) complexes, with the aim of providing insights in how to design bright luminescent probes. In 2020, she integrated the ALAMBIC team led by Christelle Hureau as a postdoctoral fellow, before obtaining a permanent position as a Chargée de recherche in the team in 2021. Her current work focus on the design of artificial lanthanide enzymes as mimics of the recently discovered lanthanide methanol dehydrogenases

Clément Molinet-Chinaglia is an Assistant Professor (Maître de conférence at the INP-ENSIACET) in team C since September 2025. His research focuses on the development of supported metal nanoparticles for energy applications, with particular emphasis on understanding the correlation between structural modifications and catalytic activity.

Before joining LCC, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher (2025 at the Instituto de Tecnología Química (ITQ), Valencia, Spain where he worked on the catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of methane to produce hydrogen and carbon nanotubes (CNTs).

Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow (2024) at the LCC (CNRS), France where he investigated Ru/TiO₂-based catalysts for methanation reactions.

Dr. Molinet-Chinaglia earned his Ph.D. in 2023 at IRCELYON (CNRS), France under the supervision of Dr. Stéphane Loridant and Dr. Laurent Piccolo. His doctoral research focused on the structural dynamics of Pt/CeO₂ catalysts and their application to improving the efficiency of the water-gas shift reaction.

Gábor MOLNÁR was born in 1973. He prepared his PhD thesis in the field of luminescent materials at the University of Nice (France) and Eötvös University (Hungary). He held postdoctoral positions at the IMRA-Europe company (France) and the Queen‘s University of Belfast (UK). Before starting her PhD, Maryam Nasimsobhan has been working as an engineer under the supervision of Professor Gabor Molnar. She holds a master’s in solid mechanics from Tehran polytechnic. She joined as a researcher in the LEM3 at Lorraine University for two years on computational homogenization methods of piezoelectric composites.

In 2018, she moved to France and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in molecular chemistry (2021) and her Master’s degree in green chemistry (2023) from the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse. In April 2022, she moved to Barcelona, funded by an Erasmus+ scholarship and worked in the GEFRO (Electrochemistry, Photochemistry and Organic Reactivity Group) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) under the supervision of Dr. Silvia Mena and Dr. Gonzalo Guirado López. During her internship, she worked on the development of new and greener electrolytes for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO₂). In January 2023, she joined the Coordination Chemistry Laboratory (LCC) in Toulouse. She worked under the supervision of Dr. Nicolas Queyriaux in the Small Molecule Activation team (SMAc) and Dr. Vincent César from the Molecular Design of Transition Metal Pre-Catalysts team. During 7 months she worked on nitrous oxide (N₂O) activation using FLP-type strategies. In October 2023, she started her Ph.D on molecular pre-activation of N₂O towards electro-assisted catalysis under the guidance of Dr. Nicolas Queyriaux. During her Ph.D, she obtained the SALTO mobility exchange program and joined the group of Dr. Nicolas Kaeffer in the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI-CEC) in Mülheim an der Ruhr for a five months long exchange.

Lucie Paloque is a parasitologist and obtained her PhD in 2013 at the University of Aix-Marseille for the research of new therapeutic targets and identification of drug candidates in the treatment of leishmaniasis. She continued this research during a first post-doctoral fellowship at Paul Sabatier University. In 2015 she joined the LCC as a post-doctoral fellow to develop new pharmacological approaches in the treatment of malaria, and was recruited in 2019.

Evelyne Prévots is a research engineer at the CNRS with nearly three decades of experience. She conducted research into high-temperature resistant materials at the Promes Laboratory, the Odeillo Font-Romeu solar furnace, and then studied nanomaterials by electron microscopy at CEMES in Toulouse.
Since 2003, Evelyne Prévots has shifted her focus to support activities, including communication, research promotion, and scientific facilitation.

Karl RIDIER, born in 1988, has received his PhD in the field of molecular magnetism from the University of Paris-Sud (now Paris-Saclay). In 2020, he got a permanent CNRS position as “chargé de recherche” in the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination. His work focuses on the study of the optical and dynamic properties of spin-crossover molecular materials, as well as on the integration of these switchable nanomaterials in photonic and electronic devices.

Philippe Serp is Professor of inorganic chemistry at Toulouse University. He earned the Springer thesis prize for his work on gold catalysis. He continued his training with a post-doctoral internship at the Technical University of Berlin under the direction of Prof. M. Etienne at LCC as a CNRS researcher to begin a project tackling the transformation of N2. In 2017, he obtained a Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). In 2022, the Institute of Chemistry of Toulouse awarded him the “Young Researcher” prize and in 2024, he received the Young Researcher Award of the Coordination Chemistry Division of the French Chemical Society. Nathalie Solladié soutient en 1996 sa thèse, effectuée chez le Dr. Jean-Pierre Sauvage à l’Université Louis Pasteur (ULP) de Strasbourg, sur la synthèse et l’étude de multi-rotaxanes. Elle réalise ensuite un stage post-doctoral dans le laboratoire du Prof. Andrea Vasella à l’école polytechnique (ETH) de Zürich sur la synthèse d’oligonucléotides modifiés comme inhibiteurs de l’expression génétique.

An engineer from INSA Toulouse (specializing in Physical Engineering, 1994), Laure Vendier obtained her PhD in 1997 in the field of materials for electronics (a joint thesis between INSA Toulouse and Georgia Tech, Atlanta, USA).
She joined CNRS in 1998 in an engineering position at the CEMES laboratory and moved to LCC in 2003 to manage the laboratory’s X-ray diffraction platform.

Yuteng Zhang finished his master degree at Tianjin University (China) under supervision of Prof. Xianggao Li. He prepared his Ph.D. thesis in the field of spin-crossover materials at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC, France) under supervision of Dr.Azzedine Bousseksou and Dr.Gabor Molnar. Since 2022 he has worked in the same group of LCC as a postdoc to continue his investigation of physical properties and technological applications of bistable molecular materials.

ZULKARNAIN Raja
